Lessons to learn from the odious Omarosa

To waste time and effort on that despicable animal is giving her the oxygen of publicity that she so desperately covets, despite that there are lessons to learned from the vilest of fiends such as Omarosa.

She began her career working in the office of Vice President Al Gore,  Gore's former office administrator, Mary Overbey, has said Omarosa "was the worst hire we ever made". Omarosa was later transferred to the Commerce Department where she was deemed as "unqualified and disruptive," by the department's undersecretary Cheryl Shavers, who subsequently fired her.

She then appeared for three seasons of The Apprentice where her qualities of being disruptive, rude, abusive, cunning and conniving were on dazzling display. Among her accomplishments on that show was to propositioning fellow contestant Piers Morgan for sex ‘to make loads of money’, claiming a fellow contestant had used the ‘n word’ against her and setting herself up as the quintessential reality TV contestant eager to jump into the gutter at the drop of a hat.

Then, in a move that baffled many, candidate Donald Trump then hired her as Director of African-American Outreach for his presidential campaign. She also worked on Trump’s transitional team and finally, she joined Trump's White House staff as Director of Communications for the Office of Public Liaison.

With her record that showed nothing but disruptiveness and treachery, it was not a question of if she would create trouble, it was only a matter of when. She more than lived to those dubious expectations by serving a cold dish full of vituperations and betrayal in the form of her book brutishly attacking Donald Trump, the very man who hired this unemployable fiend on multiple occasions. She surreptitiously recorded conversations during her time at the White House and is still in the process of leaking them to the press to publicize her book.

Even the anti-Trump media, often eager to lap up any attack on Trump dealt with her with the utmost but surprising skepticism.

But it doesn’t resolve the conundrum about the reason of hiring this malcontent with a reputation of infecting every environment she inhabits to the White House when there is a whole surfeit to decent and capable people to choose from.

Perhaps President Trump, like many of us was taught to believe that human beings are always righteous, moral and decent, only circumstances lead people to behave badly and that that forgiveness is essential to allow the individual to walk down the path of virtue.

But we have all met characters such as Omarosa, absolute serpents with no redeeming quality. They often appeal to our humane side, we think of giving them ‘one more chance’ because we see them helplessly writhing on the ground begging for mercy sometimes literally and sometimes metaphorically. We then give them a helping hand only to find that not only are they ungrateful but they stab their benefactors with poisoned daggers.

The sole way of dealing with these venomous monsters is a total and complete severance of all contact. Had President Trump followed this, all this unnecessary noise could have been totally avoided. If any good has to come out of this cacophony is it is a tough and hard lesson that treachery and disloyalty are incurable.
