Barack Obama: Never a leader, Always the activist

He was born to a Kenyan father and an American mother, his parents divorced when he was two. His father left for Kenya and met him only once more before his death.

His mother remarried an Indonesian national and moved him to Jakarta. Concerned for his education and safety, his mother sent him back to Hawaii to live with her parents for his schooling. His mother divorced again and returned to Hawaii.

He graduated from Columbia University and subsequently at Harvard Law School. He moved to Chicago to become a community organizer.

He was elected to the Illinois Senate in 1996 and to the US Senate in 2005.

Then in 2008, at the age of 47, despite no leadership experience and just over a decade of experience in politics, Barack Hussein Obama became the 44th President of the United States.

The Obama Presidency was an unmitigated disaster. The industrial and farming heartlands were in ruins. Healthcare was unaffordable. The US economy faltered with high unemployment. His acolytes then began pushing the post-American world with China as a dominant force. There were allegations of surveillance on journalists and the IRS targeting conservatives. Optional wars abroad were continued and entered into. The lack of strategy in Iraq led to ISIS controlling vast areas and regularly releasing beheadings videos. Russia had annexed Crimea. Assad used chemical weapons on his people in Syria.

Despite his catastrophic tenure, the people in the news media, show business, and government who began their slobbering love affair with him in 2007 continue to worship him and follow every syllable he utters with revolting obsequiousness.

Post Obama’s Presidency, the Obamas signed lucrative deals for their books, podcasts, and documentaries. Today, the Obamas are multi-millionaires and own various plush properties all over America.

This is the life that dreams are made of, few in America have experienced such a meteoric rise.

During his re-election campaign in 2012,  Obama stated, "Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you've got a business, you didn't build that."

One would think the same Obama would lavish blandishments on America that enabled his considerable affluence.

No such luck!

As Obama promotes his recent book Promise Land, the theme of his talks is replete with doom and gloom.

He believes that all the opposition he received during his tenures were only owing to his race. He views a grassroots movement such as the Tea Party as ‘the dark spirits that had long been lurking on the edges of the modern Republican party – xenophobia, anti-intellectualism, paranoid conspiracy theories, and antipathy toward black and brown folks.” Despite having myriad admirers who often behave like disciples, he is still fixated with his critics such as Sarah Palin, Rush Limbaugh, and Fox News. He also believes ‘millions of Americans spooked by black man in White House” and led to the Trump presidency.

For a man who is supposed to be an intellectual and a thinker, these are reductive inanities and gross oversimplifications.

It has to be remembered that he claimed that the reason for his cocaine and marijuana use in high school and college was to ‘ease the pain of his ongoing struggle to define his racial identity’.

Clearly, this ploy of using his race as an excuse for his failures or shortcomings is not exactly novel. In fact all through his presidency his supporters were used rather effectively to silence his opposition. Nobody wants to be called a racist, so they rather stay quiet.

If you are a young black person listening to Obama and his Democrat colleagues, there is no uplifting message of inspiration. On the contrary, you would be convinced that the system is rigged against you. That the police are staking outside your home waiting to shoot you dead. If you survive the police shootout, there is nothing but discrimination in every walks of life, from the education system to the workplace.

The result is you grow hostile toward this ‘biased system’. Soon every Caucasian is viewed with suspicion, such that the mere gaze from a policeman or a friendly shop attendant observing your movement in her shop only to be able to assist or a teacher offering constructive criticism is construed as an act of racial bias.

This resentment could devolve into violence or the support of violence because you are led to believe it is a form of protest towards ‘systemic discrimination’ that is smothering you. If that a former President feels discriminated against, what hope do you have?

This is what the present-day Democrat party stands for. They seek and celebrate victimhood more than achievement. They demonize principled opposition going as far as to call it bigotry. They claim to hold all the moral virtues despite ample proof of the contrary.

They look at people solely through the prism of a demographic group, if you happen to from a demographic minority, you are they assure you of the permanence of your persecution. They dispirit rather than inspire. They seek a permanent underclass who will be perpetually dependent.

The diversity they claim to strive for only applies to the superficial i.e. race, nationality, sexual orientation, and religion. But they forget that real diversity is being respectful and open to opposing perspectives especially those across the spectrum of ideological and political affiliations.

Obama actually paved the way for the AOCs of the world, who wake up every morning looking for instances of racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, xenophobia, and other inventive forms of perceived bigotry from those they disagree with.

They spend the first phase of their lives whining about income inequality and capitalism. The second phase of their life is spent enjoying the fruits of free-market capitalism, making millions writing books and making speeches about their ‘victims’ i.e. those they claim to be dedicating their lives to.

The lives of the victims they claim to campaign for remains unchanged. These victims are passed down to the next generation of self-serving activists as if they were commodities.

As always, the monster will eventually grow to despise Dr. Frankenstein and will drive him out of town.

A few days ago Barack Obama chastised Democratic political candidates for using “snappy” slogans like “defund the police” that he argued could turn voters away. He was actually, urging them to follow his ways of deceitfully campaigning from the center but governing from the far left.

But these far-left monsters neither have the acumen nor the patience for nuance. On some level, they deserve to be commended for rejecting Obama’s plea for deceitfulness. Hence the likes of Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, Charles Booker from Kentucky, Cori Bush from Missouri excoriated the former president and rejected his critique.

The squabbles continue to prove who is the world champion of empty virtue signaling.

It is nothing short of astounding that these people still have ardent followers and continue to get elected.

Will there ever be an end to this mass hypnosis?
